![As I was leaving my home I heard GXR coming into town, so naturally I popped down the road to the tracks right as they were approaching my road. On the end of the train was a pleasant sight, former OSR's CP Widevision 434462. Sold to the Goderich Station restaurant, I've heard it will be converted to sell Ice Cream. Unfortunately, I had obligations to meet and couldn't stay to chase it. Glad I got to see it on what's likely its last trip on rails.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Rpsmall-200x150.jpg)

![
A Merry Christmas and best wishes from the Guelph Historical Railway Association!

With marker lamps lit and a collection of lanterns shining, caboose 436994 poses for a night time shot. Lanterns include a 1947 Ontario Northland Railway, a 1925/30 Canadian National Railway, and two 1910 era Grand Trunk Railway lanterns.

436994 was built around 1928, and served until the 1980s. The caboose also served on the Dominion Atlantic Railway in the 1970s. It was given as a thank you gift to an executive of a large retail firm here in Canada, as a thank you for signing a large contract with the CPR. It was moved to a property near Mildmay, Ontario. It was acquired by the GHRA from there, and moved to Guelph where it has been restored and maintained ever since.

Our group also acquired caboose 4900 through a donation by the Ontario Southland Railway in August of 2020.

![The Guelph Junction Railway, operated by the Goderich & Exeter railway passes by locomotive 6167 in her new spot at John Galt park. On November 14th 6167 was moved from her home by the Guelph Central Station to this location by the GJR. The move was necessary due to Metrolinx's plans to expand the station. Obviously the area is still under construction, as evidenced by the safety ribbons and pylons. Eventually there will be a nice pathway around the locomotive.
Interesting note, 6167 sits directly at the site of the Priory, the first building in Guelph. Built by Guelph founder John Galt. The Priory would also serve as the first post office, and when the CPR arrived in Guelph in the 1880s, it became the CPR station. The Priory was replaced by a stone station built around 1910. This area is a highly significant area to Guelph, and its railway history. A fitting spot for 6167.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/DSC29small-200x150.jpg)

![On November 14, 2020, Canadian National 6167,owned by Guelph Museums, moved from it's home by the Guelph Central GO station to John Galt Park, named after the founder of Guelph, John Galt.
This move was needed to make way for the expansion of the GO train station. All told the city of Guelph will have likely spent close to 1 million on this move, while a lot, the preservation of this magnificent engine continues and it's new location is a visible, important part of Guelph's history, certainly a fitting spot for this engine.
To the right of 6167 is Allan's Bridge, the CN/Metrolinx Guelph Sub and the tracks behind the locomotive are the city owned Guelph Junction Railway. 6167 was moving backward toward the tracks where it will sit beside the GJR.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DSC0868RP-200x150.jpg)

![I believe this train was actually Job 2, the Job that worked the south end of Guelph. Although at the time I didn't realize it was. After finishing switching the PDI Liquids facility, they headed south light power. While switching a couple guys in kayaks went paddling by, obviously one of them found the train as interesting as me, as he stayed there watching the train for a little while.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/DSC_0382RP-200x150.jpg)

![OSR's Guelph Junction Railway train was a little different on this day. The tail end had the Guelph Historical Railway Associations Ex-CPR caboose #436994. Onboard was the city Councillors of the city of Guelph who were taking a tour of the Guelph junction Railway to learn more about the city owned operation.
They were all smiles and seemed to really enjoy it, I certainly heard a lot of compliments of the GHRA caboose! Since this photo was taken our group has also entirely repainted the exterior of the caboose.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/DSC_0780RP-200x150.jpg)

![In repsonse to Jason Noe's incredible shot from back in 1996, here is virtually the same shot but in 2020, 24 years later. On occasion OSR's second job would switch Owens Corning later in the day. As Jason stated on his photo, this meant light was virtually perfect. This shot is the last time the yard job would service Owens Corning, and the last time OSR pulled a car out of Owens Corning. Amazing to see all this time later, MLW's were still servicing the plant.
Although operations at Owens Corning have been severely reduced. Nowadays they get one car a week and the second siding inside the facility is no longer used. Even still, for a long period of time recently Owens Corning received no rail cars, so anything is welcome for us railfans.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/DSC_10822RP-200x150.jpg)

![Back in 2016, GEXR took a Schnabel car from Babcock & Wilcox in Cambridge to CN at Georgetown. Here is GEXR 2303 shoving the train through the Acton GO station. Slowing to a crawl to make sure the Schnabel car doesn't hit the wheelchair access platform. Just by chance I heard about the train as it was passing through Guelph and decided to follow it to Georgetown. What a cool sight to see.
I really don't know anything about the cargo, or where it was heading. I seem to remember a generator heading for South America? I'm sure someone will remember this and fill in the missing details for us.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/DSC_06532RP1-200x150.jpg)

![Myself and a good friend got a heads up about the plow run the Goderich-Exeter railway was doing, so we decided to make the trip over to watch it. This was the first plow run I've seen.
